Ex military cheifs to return 1Trilion
The investigative panel convened by the National Security Adviser (NSA) to probe the purchase of arms for the military from 2007 till date has succeeded in sending shock waves accross the ex military official in charge of the offices with as many as 13 allegedly indicted retired generals opting for plea bargain and offering to return loots up to 1Trn sources close to the panel has revealed to us
President Buhari around one week ago, ordered the National Security adviser to convene an investigative committee on the procurement of hardware and ammunition in the Armed Forces from 2007 till now
President Buhari had promised to deal with anybody found guilty by this panel as sources close to him reveal that he believes the war against insurgency has been helped by the so called dubious and corrupt military chiefs that embezled funds meant for the procurement of arms for the military
And recent reports has revealed that up to 13 indicted generals have already stated offering to return stolen funds to the tune of N1Trn in order to get softer landings or to get exempted from the probe altogether but it is not yet clear if the chairman of the panel will accept those proposals given to him by the affected indicted generals
It was also learnt that five Israelis, who played major roles in arms procurement for the military, in the last six years, are to be invited by the committee, whose members were named on Monday after President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive. The Israelis reportedly left the country on the eve of the general elections, but will be summoned by the probe panel to appear before it
The federal government has directed that tight security be provided for members of the panel

Meanwhile the federal government will tommorow arraign former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), before a Federal High Court in Abuja for allegedly being in possession of firearms without license in what might be president Buhari’s first casualty in his fight against corruption
