ICPC Swoops On Four Ex-Governors

The four ex-governors are Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers, Sullivan Chime of Enugu, Ibrahim Shema of Katsina and Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano.

Four investigative teams departed from Abuja on Monday to the states of Rivers, Enugu, Katsina and Kano to check the accuracy of the financial statements of the former governors.
“We will ensure that we thoroughly investigate all allegations brought before us so that nobody would be left in doubt about our commitment to fighting corruption,” told the press the source inside ICPC who declined to be identified, adding that “the [ICPC ] chairman has dispatched a team to the affected states and they are expected to report back in the next two weeks.”

Speaking on conditions of anonymity, the source concluded that if found guilty nobody would be spared from punishment.
